With the amount of rain on Tuesday nights this year, we are currently sitting with 4 nights worth of games to be made up. The ACF Board has announced 2 options, and now we need teams to weigh in on their preference.
OPTION 1: In lieu of a Post-Season Tournament, the ACF would hold a MAKE-UP Saturday in August at either Birdsall Park or Hoing-Rice. To hold these games at Pfieffer, might be a possibility, but we would only be able to get through 3 of the make-up dates at best.
OPTION 2: At the conclusion of the Little League season at Pfieffer, games would begin to be made up on the diamonds opposite the Family League on Thursday nights. One week we would make up A-League Games and the following week B-League games and so forth until all games are made-up.
Please let Bobby Kelly, Kirk Kelly, Adam Schwab, Travis Elliott, Brad Allspach, Jan Huffman or Ric Reinhardt know how your team would prefer to see these games made up. Some games could be made up on Tuesdays immediately following the completion of the regular season on August 4, but currently we are looking at extending the season into September and there are other commitments for the diamonds.
Grace Baptist captured the 2009 Mid-Season Tournament Title Saturday at Waterloo's Hoing-Rice Complex defeating Trinity Bible in the Championship Game. On a day marked by beautiful weather, Trinity fought back after losing their first game of the day in 12 Innings to reach the final game, but the Team from Grace Baptist finally proved too much.
There was no winner in the 3rd Annual Home Run Derby. Although the person funds were being raised for (Ellie Smiley) did make it out to the park for the festivities. Please continue to keep this little girl and her family in your prayers. T-Shirts from the Derby will be available for purchase the next 2 Tuesday and Thursday nights at Pfieffer Park during regular league play.
